About Me

In past lives, I’ve been a soldier, a sailor, a lecturer in U.S. politics, a researcher in political violence, and—briefly, and quite literally—deceased in 2019. I’ve also spent years in the motorcycle industry as a general sales manager for several well-known brands, learning a lot about people, performance, and just how many ways there are to argue over how fast we remember we used to be.

I’ve moved through academia, fieldwork, and policy spaces, usually drawn to messy, complex problems and the people trying to make sense of them.

I’m a sci-fi enthusiast, a believer in cross-border perspectives, and the kind of person who still browses second-hand bookshops like something might change. I’m also still trying to figure out what “online community” means, and where I fit in that conversation.
